It is an anthem for those who search for strength to rise above hardship. I want everybody to take away an uplifting vibe. Dig a little deeper and let the message resound. I hope people walk away with a sense of optimism. I'm always in my own world, and this is my way to invite everyone in."

Republic News publishes an article where Adam gives an interview. He discusses new music, his inspirations, and talks more in detail about his sleep deprivation.
Adam: "The insomnia thing is thankfully more blessing than curse. I think for the most part I see it as a real benefit simply because I have more hours in the day to work because of my inability to sleep. I wouldn't say I have some terrible clinically diagnosed sleep deprivation or anything but I really just get a couple hours of sleep a night and usually they're not very quality hours. But just like with anything you learn how to deal with it and you just move on and make it work." "I'm in this great place right now where I feel really led to create on my own and just live and breathe inside my own head for a bit. The beauty of the situation is that I really prefer being alone most of the time and so having the skills to be able to write, produce, mix, and so everything in between is super inspiring. I'm a real creature of whim and so I'm always in some kind of phase or zone, and this chapter currently is just me alone in the studio doing what I do without any outside input. I don't think anything I do or will ever do under the moniker of Owl City will ever sound or feel different from the Owl City that fans know because everything I do is just inherently "me" in a way that I couldn't change if I wanted to. So it's real great to have that freedom."

Adam: "I grew up in a small town south of Minneapolis, Minnesota with the perfect atmosphere conducive to creativity, so I bought a comfortable house in Owatonna and built a studio there because it is the ideal place to make records... Having the ability to walk into the studio at any time, day or night and work for however long I wish without being interrupted is an incredibly valuable thing for me as a creative mind. I really don't imagine I'd enjoy making music to the same degree if I were approaching it any other way."

You know, her father left her when she was very young, and some of the damage it did to her, I feel like it took her a lot of years to get over that. The subject matter in this song is, difficult though it may be, it's something somebody out there needs to hear. It's an idea a lot of people can connect with, losing a parent or growing up without a parent, I feel like its very common. So my hope is that this song is an encouragement to somebody out there who needs this hope for healing."
